History

1957 Seaway was founded by Raymond S. Gurnick as an open die heading facility.

1960 The company began manufacturing Taper Threaded Pipe Plugs through cold forming.

1970's Seaway started manufacturing non-ferrous Pipe Plugs as well as World Standards.

1980's Additional secondaries, including sealant application, assembly and drilling were added.

1993 Raymond L. Gurnick executed a buy-sell agreement to become President and Owner of Seaway.

1999 The company expanded to 30,000 Sq Ft of Logistics, marking its commitment to distribution.

2000 Seaway grew its manufacturing capabilities with the purchase of a 1" Nutformer.

2003 Seaway earned ISO/QS-9000 and ISO-140001 Certifications.

2011 The company added warm forming capabilities.

2015 Seaway purchased its first Partsforming machine.

2016 The cloud-based Plex ERP system goes live.

2019 An Advanced Cold Forming SBU expands, including National 1500, 1250, and 30,000 Sq Ft additions.

2021 Seaway added additional secondaries, including internal tapping and marking.

2023 The company turned on the 2nd National 1500, increasing large diameter capacity.

2025 Seaway turned on a 3rd National 1500, becoming a premier large diameter industry leader.
